Her connection with animals encourages conversations, actions and designs. A horse has deep meaning and emotional connection for this designer, and is the reason the first piece of jewelry was made. Together jewelry designer and artist Kristen Ohmstede, and her fine artisans, work to perfect each mold and design. The attention to production quality, particularly her signature style and inlay of French Champlevé enamel, requires precious time and attention.
A gold standard for those animals who live on earth, and those who will some day pass on, the Kristin Ohmstede jewelry designs exemplify her commitment to making sure we see, value and protect all animals. Bespoke and refined, Kristin speaks of each animal in her collection, as if they were alive today. Use of recycled gold and conflict-free diamonds, and limited-run or made to order productions are part of her commitment. 10% of all sales are donated to animals in need. Currently, she is partnered with Return to Freedom, a non-profit sanctuary that protects America’s wild horses.

Ohmstede is known for her heartfelt, flawless gifts- for a young girls’ coming of age celebrations, a treasure for grandmother, an heirloom for mother, a fun-loving gesture for a friend. Nurturing, wild and playful are the animals in her l’ermitage and her saying is “imaginations run wild.”
